DIRECTLY THREADED 3/4" x 16tpi FOR FIXING TO DML AND CL SERIES LATHES OR OTHER MACHINES WITH THE SAME CONFIGURATION.
This chuck should not be confused with the sea of far eastern copies of more expensive chucks. This is a high-tech, precision engineered chuck designed specifically as an accurate and powerful work holding system for small and intermediate lathes up to about 15" capacity.
The light, compact design minimises loads on smaller spindles and bearings and the standardised jaw and insert interface take the same accessory range as the other NOVA chucks, to deliver you maximum versatility (though some of the larger jaws are recommended for Supernova2 body).
Precision machined on CNC machinery, the G3 is very accurate, with a fast, precise and powerful geared action. Built to the same exacting standards as the Supernova2 it also shares many features found on more expensive chucks, such as auto jaw stop, copper composite jaw slides, a newly designed woodworm screw and versatile 50mm jaws as standard.
With a one handed, geared handle it is easy and efficient to mount pieces and the 4 jaw system is very forgiving of spigot and recess tolerances, making mounting much easier even for new turners.
This is a directly threaded version so please remember it will only fit 3/4" x 16tpi lathes and cannot be changed at a later date. If you have several machines with different threads or plan to upgrade to the Nova series at a later date we recommend buying the 48202 Insert version so all you need to change is the relevant threaded insert.
